Five weeks ago Sara and I started gardening with a small four by eight foot garden plot. Well, really Sara has been doing most of the heavy lifting with most of the tending to the garden. Tonight we had a chance to enjoy some of the lettuce that we planted. Nice and hearty, slightly peppery and delicious.
This is one of our favorite dishes of late, barley risotto with sweet potatoes and andouille sausage. A simple, hearty and healthy dinner that is as perfect for a week night as it is for the weekend.
