I know, I'm supposed to be writing about cocktails and music. But man cannot live on only cocktails and music. If he could he would be a highly functioning alcoholic. Wait, isn't that Keith Richards?
The original plan was to have leftovers, but neither of us wanted leftovers. Right before leaving work I found a recipe from Bon Appétit that looked super simple. There's only a handful of ingredients in pan-seared sausage with Pink Lady apples and watercress. Sausage, apples, watercress, wine, white wine vinegar, salt, pepper and olive oil. Couple it with some polenta and you have a feast. You can grab the recipe from Bon Appétit here. It's the perfect fall meal. I'd recommend drinking a nice dry riesling with this.
What did I drink while making this? A Manhattan.
And dessert? A nicely aged five-year rum. Yeah, we're a bourbon house, but sometimes rum is perfect!
