Pizza and beer, or pizza and red wine, both are kind of classic combinations. But I think that pizza and champagne are perfect too. I told Sara we would celebrate her awesome marathon time with a nice bottle of champagne. This afternoon we picked up a bottle of Andre Clouet Brut Grande Reserve. Nice tight bubbles, a bit of lemon and apple. Delicious.
I made the Bon Appétit pizza dough featured in the October issue. I made this a few weeks back and liked the crispy bottom, so I made it again. Classic pizza with mozzarella, basil and red sauce.
