When my wife and I moved from Chicago, IL., to Portland, ME., we left behind our friends, but also the restaurants and bars that we used to eat and drink at. We had our standards, our places, like Bistro Campagne, the little French restaurant where I asked my wife to marry me, Longman & Eagle, where we would go for bourbon, burgers and more bourbon, Tiny Lounge, the little cocktail bar down the street from our apartment, and lots of other places where we were regulars.
It's hard finding new places become a regular at when you move someplace new. You want the places you miss from your hometown. Luckily for us, around the time we moved to Portland a new neighborhood restaurant called Woodford Food & Beverage opened up. I don't think we visited there right away, but once we did, we knew that we'd found our place.
Woodford F&B serves up classic american comfort food and classic cocktails. It's one of those rare restaurants where you just want to hang out all night in and talk with the staff. It's where those that live in the neighborhood eat.
Lucky for us we met the owners and I've been shooting photos for their Instagram profile and I couldn't be happier.
