- 2 oz. rye (Sazerac rye is fantastic, or go with Rittenhouse)
- .25 oz. Fernet (Why via Chicago? Because I went with a new Fernet from CH Distillery, which is based in Chicago. A Toronto is usually made with Fernet Branca)
- .25 oz. gum syrup (Or simple syrup)
- A couple dashes of Angostura bitter
Combine everything in a mixing beaker over ice. Stir 20 or so seconds and strain into a coupe. Garnish with an orange peel.
This is one delicious cocktail. Stir this one up, throw on Summer Teeth by Wilco and enjoy.
